Rob Allen Vecta Speargun Railgun

The Railgun is the ultimate in speargun technology, offerring a powerful, fast, well balanced rig with the added bonus of being streamlined enough to appeal to those who prefer to hunt their fish at greater depth or in adverse conditions.
Rob Allen now introduces the Vecta, a new state of the art gun handle. The Vecta is the result of three years of research and development into creating the ultimate speargun trigger mechanism and grip. This development is set to elevate the status of Rob Allen’s core piece of equipment, the Railgun, to an even higher level. The result of all this engineering is the Vecta, the strongest, smoothest and most robust mechanism available.
Railguns are unique in the sense that they have an extended “rail” incorporated into the aluminum barrel for the full length of the shaft. This rail supports the spear the full length of the barrel and continues on into the muzzle. The rail barrel tube is also much stiffer and stronger than a normal tube because it is thicker-walled and has a slightly bigger diameter. The integrated rail adds further strength. Rob Allen also uses aircraft grade aluminum when the barrels are extruded. This gives the barrel even better strength and stiffness, enabling it to handle strong rubbers and be used in longer lengths without flexing.
Guns come rigged with 2×16mm bands and 7mm Hawaiian Flopper Shaft

HH EVOLUTION, REEF Muzzle, 9/16th Bands & 17/64th Shaft
THE MOST ACCURATE speargun in America as independently tested by Hawaii Speargun Magazine* and Spearing Magazine out of Florida**.
Confidence in your ability and equipment puts fish on your plate. Every element of the HammerHead Evolution complements the next for consistent and accurate shots dive-in and dive-out under the most demanding of situations.
The unique precision of the HammerHead Evolution starts with the Reef™ Open Muzzle with high off-set band holes above the mid-line of the speargun barrel to reduce and minimize “band-kick”. Streamline and hydrodynamic the Reef™ Open Muzzle tightly holds twin X-Power Bands to further minimize lateral movements during the power release-phase yielding greater accuracy and control.
To further guide the shot and minimize speargun recoil and “kick” the barrel of all HammerHead Evolutions posses a full extruded railed track and are internally ballasted for neutrality, sound dampening, and recoil minimization.
All Evolution Spearguns are then matched with precision-machined American made 17-4 Stainless Steel Heat Treat Shafts designed with pin tabs set 2.5” from the rear to maximize band stretch and power.
The release mechanism on the HammerHead Evolutions fully encapsulated the shaft on all four sides with a 304 grade stainless steel cage for long-lasting durability and dependability. Ergonomic grips maintain the divers wrist in “strong-fist” position allowing the diver to maximize their strength while firing to prevent recoil and kick with increasing shot power.

All C4 Mr.Carbon Spearguns include reel without line. Reel is manufactured of reinforced nylon with a capacity of 55 mtrs/180 ft. Extremely fast and light. This speargun comes equipped with a TORSION2 fin shaft, one set of bands, dynema wishbone, and kit for adaptation of the handle.
Seeing, approaching, lining up and shooting: this is the unavoidable sequence in spearfishing. Accepting this sequence first consideration is how much, for most part in spearfishing, is movement: the diver, the fish, all is constant change.
To control these movements is the founding stone for a successful spearfishing action, done in freediving and so in a limited time.
For the action to attain its purpose it’s necessary for the diver to line up the shaft to the target at the correct distance.
If the gun is not properly lined up all its ballistic capabilities are nothing.
The first feature in a good gun therefore becomes the versatility, meaning the ability to easily and quickly adapt to the unavoidable and swift changes in spearfishing actions.
During a dive the spearfisher does not move easily because he/she is immersed in a fluid where it’s not easy to attain a precise and stable positioning. He/she “floats” more or less widely in the environment, executing only half controlled movements, depending a great deal from his/her abilities and from equipment operability.
The diver movement is controlled only partially because the fluid where he/she is immersed is neither stable at all nor fixed: waves and marine currents complicate every movement. The intensity of all these natural events can reach such a level that the dive is impossible. Consequently this is a really important issue.
The targets also, the fish, it’s unlikely they are still. When they seems they are they’re instead in a brief phase hastily interrupted with a fin movement.
For managing at the best all these unavoidable situations and achieve the last phase in that fishing sequence, the split second before the activation of the trigger, it’s necessary for the equipment to be well adapted to diver’s requirement, with a fast and simple control. Ergonomics focused toward an aim and not toward a single detail.
This is the versatility concept at the base of the design and the manufacture of C4 guns, the simple focusing on a purpose.
The ergonomics of an underwater gun it’s not only that of the handle, but it has to be referred to the equipment in its fullness. It’s the equipment it has to adjust to the diver, not the other way around. It has not to require adaptations and/or unusual movements for functioning, only simplicity and spontaneity.
For this reason C4 guns does not have shapes limiting easy movements in a single direction. This effect is typically there for example in guns with flat-shaped barrels, allowing mainly a movement in a single direction to the detriment of a multiple direction spearfishing action.
To move guns with generous sections, for this reason not easily handled, inevitably slows down any spearfishing action, sometimes even to the point of unsuccessfulness. Furthermore, shifts bigger water volumes with the obvious consequence of scare off the fish.
The C4 planning philosophy finds its maximum expression in the Mr.Carbon, effortless, fast and accurate in its movements like no other gun can be.

C4 Joker
The Joker 410 is a speargun whose length can be adjusted in 4 different sizes, from 95 cm to 110 cm in 5 cm intervals.
These adjustments have to be done outside the water using 2 screws below the gun to stabilize the telescopic barrel.
The balancing of the gun requires the use of a pre molded floating material inside the empty, rear, part of the barrel.
The Gun includes:
1- Reel (no line)
1- Shaft 6.5mm hawaiian.
1- Band material for two bands.
2- Metal articulated wishbones.
The ideal balancing is achieved as follows:
95 cm = no float = 130 cm shaft
100 cm = 5 cm float = 135 or 140 cm shaft
105 cm = 10 cm float = 140 cm shaft
110 cm = 15 cm float = 150 cm shaft
Shafts diameters can go from 6 to 7 mm, depending on local needs and type of fishing, with the suggested size being 6.5 mm.
The gun can accept from 1 to 3 circular bands and the suggested setting is with 2 x 16 mm bands of appropriate length for the chosen length of the gun.
The right length of a circular band for a given speargun can be obtained by adding 4 to 5 cm , or 2 inches, to the standard size of a set of screw on bands.
As an exemple, if for a 100 cm gun we use 26 cm screw on bands, the circular band for the same size speargun will be 26 + 26 + 4 = 56 cm
Suggested band lengths for Superelax 16 mm circular bands :
Joker 110 = 59 cm + 56 cm or 24 inches + 22 inches
Joker 105 = 53 cm + 48 cm or 22 inches + 20 inches
Joker 100 = 50 cm + 46 cm or 21 inches + 19 inches
Joker 95 = 48 cm + 43 cm or 19 inches + 17 inches
Band lengths for Superelax 17,5 mm circular bands can be obtained by adding 3 to 5 cm or 1 to 2 inches to previous measurements.
Any change in the gun setup, like the use of a single band or 3 bands, with shafts shorter or longer, or thicker or thinner, compared to the ones suggested, may require rebalancing the gun. This is obtained by adding a small weight in the floats compartment or by removing part or all the floats.
The floats that come with the speargun are cut in 5 and 10 cm lengths to allow fine adjustments of the balancing.
How to modify the gun’s length
1) completely unscrew the 2 screws on the lower surface of the gun with the provided 5 mm Allen wrench.
2) Remove the inner front barrel
3) Place in the empty barrel the right amount of floats for the wished length as shown:
95 cm = no floats
100 cm = 5 cm float
105 cm = 10 cm float
110 cm = 15 cm float
4) Insert the front barrel segment and check that its screw holes are aligned
with those on the rear barrel segment. Then reinsert the original screws without exerting too much pressure while tightening them.
How to change the bands
1) using the provided 3 mm Allen wrench completely unscrew the screws on the rear part of the titanium muzzle and lightly the front ones.
2) Rotate the titanium blades and replace the bands with the ones of the size you wish to use. Place the shorter band first and the longer one upon it.
3) After having realigned the titanium blades with the holes on the muzzle, insert and tighten the rear screws and tighten the front ones
Replace the shaft with the one whose length and diameter is compatible with the new length of the gun and bands and with the use we intend to have for that set up.
The shorter band will be pulled to the notch or fin nearer to the muzzle, while the longer one will go to the one farther away.
